Welcome to our pre-season/tryout page
We want a mix of talented, disciplined and motivated players who either want to move on to the next level of
hockey or who have decided to combine school and hockey in the Ottawa area. From our perspective, we want to work with you if you’re fit,
talented, disciplined, dedicated, motivated and committed to managing your schedule and
priorities in order to achieve your objectives as well as the Jets objectives.
We play in one of the strongest divisions in the Eastern Ontatio Hockey League
(EOJHL), the Metro Division. The EOJHL has 22 teams, 11 in the Rideau
St-Laurence Conference and 11 in the Metro Valley Conference. In the Rideau
St-Laurence Conference there are two Divisions, the Rideau and the St-Laurence.
In the Metro/Valley Conference there are also two Divisions, the Metro and the
Valley. The
majority of our schedule has us playing power houses like Ottawa West, Ottawa
Canadians, Gatineau Mustangs and the Clarence Beavers in the Metro Division. It’s not a surprise that Metro
has many Championship wins with this level of competition.
This year’s tryout camp is open to players from 16 (1995 BY) to 21 (1990
BY) who either want to make a serious attempt to make the Jets team for this
year or who want to gain experience at this level to be better prepared for the
future.

Players currently carded
with other junior teams in the ODHA must have permission to participate in these
events from their team.
The Jets are charging a reasonable fee to all players signing cards in mid
September. In
lieu of the fee, sponsorships in the equivalent amount will be accepted. This
fee must be paid at card signing. If an offsetting sponsorship arrives from you
later in the year you will receive an appropriate refund.
The Jets do not supply
equipment, pay players or pay for billeting.
During all Camps and Tryouts,
players have the option of wearing C.S.A. approved half-visors; the wearing the
half-visor is a voluntary option on the player’s part, All players wearing a
half-visor shall use a colored mouth guard. If half visors are not used, full
visors must be used.
All players must wear throat
protectors and minor aged players must wear
full facial protection. |
